Introduction The 2007 SuperDARN Workshop will be hosted by Solar-Terrestrial Environment Laboratory, Nagoya University, and will be held at Hotel Abashirikoso, Abashiri, Hokkaido Japan. Hotel Abashirikoso is located at the center of Abashiri Quasi-National Park, and within 1-2 hour driving distance from Shiretoko National Park, one of Japan's most beautiful and unspoiled national parks. The hotel is also located within 1-2 hour driving distance from our new Hokkaido Radar site. We are looking forward to seeing you at the meeting. TEL:+81(152)48-2311 Access: Transportation to Hotel Transportation to Abashiri-city The taxi takes you from Memanbetsu Airport to the hotel in 16 minutes. The cost is 4,500 to 5,000 yen. We have reserved rooms as follows, (NOTE: Both room-types are now fully booked.) *twin room (room-type C) stay by 1 person: 10,600 yen stay by 2 people: 8,500 yen per 1 person *twin room with Japanese-style resting area (room-type A) stay by 1 person: 13,750 yen stay by 2 people: 10,600 yen per 1 person All the above prices include breakfast and dinner. Registration fees The registration fee is as follows: Professional: 40,000 yen Student: 30,000 yen Accompanying Person: 20,000 yen It includes ice breaker, excursion (afternoon of 7th June) and tour to our new SuperDARN Hokkaido radar site (afternoon of 6th June). Accompanying person's registration fee includes accompanying person's activities. Method of payment The details in the payment processes are as follows. Hotel accommodation: There is no need to pay deposit or send the credit card number. You can just make payment after you arrive. The hotel accepts cash and credit cards. Registration fee: Unfortunately we DO NOT have the credit card payment system. The registration fee is collected on site by cash only (traveler's cheques are not acceptable). So PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO BRING 40,000/30,000/20,000 JAPANESE YEN IN CASH WITH YOU!! Notice for poster presenters The poster board will be ready in the poster session room throughout the meeting, that is from the evening of June 3 to the noon of June 8. You can put posters throughout this period. The core time of the poster session is on June 6, 1930 - 2100. The poster panel is 180 cm (H) by 120 cm (W). The pins will be prepared by the LOC. |
